Terms
For the ajar Android app (ro.codebldr.ajar). Last updated 13 September 2026.
What you are agreeing to
ajar is provided by CodeBldr. Installing and using it means accepting what is on this page. If you do not, remove the app.
Use it on your own gate
Add only intercoms you are entitled to control, and invite only people you mean to let into your house. Handing someone access to your gate is a real decision with real consequences, and it is yours to make.
It is not a security system
ajar depends on things outside our control: your internet connection, the phone's battery and notification settings, Google's push delivery, the intercom, and the power at your house. Any of them can fail, which means a doorbell may not arrive and a gate may not open. Do not rely on ajar where a missed call or a gate that stays shut would be dangerous or costly, and do not treat it as an alarm, a monitoring service, or a substitute for a key.
Recording
The agent records every visit unless an admin switches recording off, and it keeps a picture of every ring either way. All of it lives at your house, and you are the one responsible for it. Filming the area around your gate is regulated in most countries, including under the GDPR where the camera reaches beyond your own property. Complying with the law where you live is your obligation, not ours.
Availability
The app and the relay behind it are provided as they are, without a guarantee of uptime. We may change how they work, and we may stop running them, though we would say so first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, CodeBldr is not liable for loss or damage arising from using ajar, from it failing to work, or from someone you gave access to using that access. This does not limit anything that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and it does not affect the rights you have as a consumer.
The app itself
ajar and its name and mark belong to CodeBldr. You get the right to use the app on your own devices; you do not get to sell it, relabel it, or pass it off as your own.
Trademarks
ajar is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Dahua Technology or any intercom manufacturer. Names such as Dahua are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the hardware ajar works with and the apps it replaces.
Ending it
Uninstall whenever you like. We may withdraw access from a phone that is being used to interfere with someone else's gate.
Law
These terms are governed by Romanian law, and the courts of Romania have jurisdiction. If you use ajar as a consumer elsewhere in the EU, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
